Settings & Configuration Guide
Comprehensive guide to customizing your Lead Performance Intelligence analysis
Performance Benchmarks
These settings establish the performance targets for your dealership network. They are used to evaluate dealer performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Target Conversion Rate High Impact
The ideal percentage of leads that should convert to sales. This is your network's goal for turning inquiries into actual vehicle purchases.
Default: 18%
Industry Average: 16.12%
How it's used: Dealers below this target are flagged for sales process improvement. ROI calculations use this to project potential revenue gains.
Target 15-Minute Response Rate High Impact
The percentage of leads that should receive a response within 15 minutes. Research shows leads contacted within 15 minutes are 10x more likely to convert.
Default: 40%
Best Practice: 40-50%
How it's used: Identifies dealers with slow response processes. Used in opportunity analysis to calculate potential conversion improvements.
Acceptable No-Response Rate Medium Impact
The maximum acceptable percentage of leads that receive no response. Every unanswered lead represents lost revenue opportunity.
Default: 10%
Best Practice: Under 10%
How it's used: Flags dealers with poor lead management. ROI calculator estimates revenue recovery from improving response rates.
Performance Tier Thresholds
These thresholds categorize dealers into performance tiers based on their conversion rates. Adjust these to match your network's performance distribution.
Elite Tier Threshold Medium Impact
Minimum conversion rate to qualify for Elite tier. These are your top performers who should share best practices with the network.
Default: 20% and above
Typical Range: 20-25%
Recommendation: Set this to capture your top 10-15% of dealers
Strong Tier Threshold Medium Impact
Minimum conversion rate for Strong performers. These dealers are above average but have room for improvement.
Default: 16% to 19.9%
Typical Range: 16-20%
Recommendation: Align with your network's average performance
Average Tier Threshold Medium Impact
Minimum conversion rate for Average tier. Dealers below this need focused improvement efforts.
Default: 12% to 15.9%
Typical Range: 12-16%
Note: Dealers below this threshold are classified as "Challenge" tier
ROI Calculation Parameters
Financial assumptions used to calculate return on investment for improvement initiatives. These directly impact revenue projections.
Average Gross Profit per Vehicle High Impact
The average gross profit earned on each vehicle sale. This is used to calculate the financial impact of conversion improvements.
Default: $4,250
Industry Average: $4,000-4,500 (new), $2,200-2,800 (used)
Tip: Use your actual average gross or front-end gross profit for accurate projections
Average Monthly Marketing Spend Low Impact
Typical monthly marketing investment per dealership. Used to calculate marketing ROI and cost per lead metrics.
Default: $25,000
Typical Range: $15,000-50,000
How it's used: Calculates cost per lead and marketing efficiency ratios

Options:
• Session only - Data cleared when browser closes
• 1 day - Good for daily reporting
• 7 days - Ideal for weekly analysis
• 30 days - Monthly reporting cycles
Privacy Note: Data is stored locally in your browser, not on servers
Default Report Format Low Impact
Preferred format when generating reports. Can be changed for individual reports.
Default: PDF

• Print View - Quick physical copies
Auto-Select Single Dealer Low Impact
When enabled, automatically selects the dealer if only one exists in the uploaded data, saving a click.
Default: Enabled
Benefit: Streamlines single-dealer analysis workflow
Best Practices & Tips
Setting Your Benchmarks
Start with industry averages, then adjust based on your network's actual performance:
- Review last 6 months of data to establish baseline
- Set targets 10-20% above current average to drive improvement
- Adjust quarterly based on seasonal patterns
- Consider market conditions (urban vs rural, competition)
Using Tier Thresholds Effectively
Performance tiers should motivate improvement without being unreachable:
- Elite tier should represent top 10-15% of dealers
- Ensure each tier has meaningful dealer representation
- Review distribution quarterly and adjust if needed
- Use tiers for recognition programs and best practice sharing
ROI Calculation Accuracy
For most accurate revenue projections:
- Use actual gross profit figures from your DMS
- Consider separate settings for new vs used vehicles
- Include F&I income if measuring total gross
- Update monthly to reflect market changes
